The Psychiatry Department at Kern Medical Center and Kern County Mental Health Department are recruiting adult psychiatrists to join the expanding academic programs located in Bakersfield, CA, 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
The UCLA Kern Psychiatry Residency Program was recently awarded a 5 year continued accreditation, and the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program with 6.5 FTE child & adolescent psychiatrists is fully accredited by ACGME. And the department is planning to develop a Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship Program.
Candidates must be eligible for American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification and be licensed to practice in California. Openings include Consultation/Liaison Service, Emergency, Inpatient and Outpatient Services. Candidates will be responsible for direct supervision of psychiatry residents, medical students and fellows in UCLA-Kern Psychiatry Residency programs. Candidates must qualify for academic appointments to the Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences Department, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
